Etats Unis : Golden Equity Investments rachète Goosecross Cellars

Goosecross Cellars, a small luxury winery located in Yountville, has been sold to Golden Equity Investments, a private equity firm based in Golden, Colo. The transaction included the 11-acre estate winery and vineyard property, tasting room and estate home.
Financial terms were not disclosed.

“The past 27 years here on State Lane with my wife Karen and partners, David and Colleen Topper, have been both challenging and rewarding,” Goosecross winemaker Geoff Gorsuch said in a statement. “I could not ask for a better change of ownership.”

Goosecross sells about 6,000 cases of wine per year, primarily directly to consumers, said Matt Franklin, principal of Zepponi & Co., the mergers and acquisitions firm that represented the sellers.

“It was a good transaction for both parties,” Franklin said. “The previous owners reached the point that they could bring the business, and they were somewhat capital constrained.”

Golden Equity plans to invest in the business and develop a national brand, Franklin said.
